Dania Beach CRA Represents the City at Annual ICSC Conference in Orlando

Wednesday, August 30, 2017 - 8:13am

Dania Beach, FL (August 28th, 2017) - The Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (DBCRA) represented the City of Dania Beach at the Annual International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Florida Conference and Deal Making Symposium that was held on August 27 – 29 in Orlando Florida. Held annually, these deal making events are a great opportunity for owners, developers, retailers, brokers, lenders, municipalities, property asset managers and product and service providers to gather under one roof to exhibit, make deals and form successful business partnerships.

During the past five years, Dania Beach has booked $1 billion in major new mixed-use, commercial and industrial projects, including the $250 million-plus Dania Pointe project that broke ground in 2016. “These transformative projects will revitalize Dania Beach to become not only a world-class business center, but also the heart of a vibrant, 24-hour destination,” said Dan Murphy, Economic Development Director for the DBCRA. “They will bridge Dania’s past and future—honoring the historical and cultural significance, and at the same time, signaling the City’s stature at the forefront of technology and innovation.”

During the ICSC conference, the DBCRA displayed development projects, available properties, city demographics, tourism statistics, and real estate information for potential owners, developers, retailers, brokers and lenders to showcase Dania Beach as a redevelopment hotspot and to encourage business attraction efforts to the downtown City Center. In June 2017, the DBCRA invited interested parties to participate in a public private partnership and submit qualifications (RFQ) for the redevelopment of property known as the Dania Beach City Center. This 4.5-acre site has been a primary focus of the DBCRA with the goal to create a vibrant mixed-use center in the downtown that will serve as an activated central gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

Murphy made noteworthy connections during the conference and invited special guests to attend the upcoming ‘Dania Beach Forecast 2027: 10-Year Real Estate Preview’ event that will be hosted by the DBCRA on October 12th at the Gallery of Amazing Things in Dania Beach. This event will allow attendees to network with fellow developers, financiers and real estate professionals during a lively discussion of Dania Beach’s immediate future.

“The upcoming developments are expected to attract visitors to Dania Beach which will in turn attract new businesses. This inflow coupled with an increased quality of life, will create a virtuous cycle of economic prosperity for the City for years to come,” states Murphy.
