Rebuilding Together started with the simple act of neighbors helping neighbors. One small act of kindness grew into a national movement of people lending a hand within their community.
Rebuilding Together Broward County is a nonprofit organization committed to repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives in Broward County, Florida. Their goal is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of vulnerable homeowners, including low-income, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. By critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and supportive aging in place improvements AT NO COST TO THE HOMEOWNER, Rebuilding aims to create safe, healthy, and sustainable living environments for those in need.
Since their inception over 20 years ago, Rebuilding Together Broward County has transformed hundreds of homes, enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations, while fostering a sense of community and volunteerism. Their comprehensive approach addresses both immediate and long-term needs, from emergency repairs and safety modifications to extensive home revitalization projects. In partnership with local businesses, community organizations, and volunteers, Rebuilding Together works tirelessly to ensure that every homeowner can age in place with dignity and security, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being and resilience of the community.
The Dania Beach CRA has contracted with Rebuilding Together Broward County to provide Home Beautification (exterior painting and landscaping) and Safe and Healthy Home services (smoke detectors, GFIs, ADA improvements, security lighting, etc.) on houses located in the CRA (see CRA Boundary map) and owned by people with property maintenance challenges - aged (+60); limitation on an owner's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity, or stamina; and/or a serving or past veteran. The CRA funding covers all costs associated with a qualifying home improvement, so the Home Beautification and Safe and Healthy Home services are provided
AT NO COST TO THE HOMEOWNER! To-date, over 200 houses have been improved in Dania Beach.
